Another Reason there is No Military Salute at Universal Orlando in 2011

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was only open for half of 2010 but is being credited with lifting Universal Orlando’s full-year attendance figures by 20 percent, company officials said last week.

Universal drew 11.2 million visitors in 2010, an increase of nearly 2 million from 2009. T the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, opened mid-June in the resort’s Islands of Adventure theme park.

Attendance has been in a slump since 2004, when 12.1 million people walked through the gates.

Also Annual revenue grew 41 percent to $1.1 billion, as tourists paid higher prices for tickets and then purchased Potter-themed souvenirs and food.

With record earnings like these Universal doesn’t need the added revenue a Military Ticket offer would bring in.

Obviously if Universal Orlando feels they can discontinue military specials due to higher influx of ticket sales, then Universal has their priorities in the wrong order. Guess they don’t feel military is important other than increased revenue for the Park…very sad!!!

You can rest assured that Universal will not be my first choice for my family ever again. Disney and Seaworld appreciate our military families more so with that said I am the new “GRINCH”

I hear you Rhonda, I haven’t been back since the last real military salute they offered. It was the member free and $88 for family.
